ボンクリ・フェスももう５歳！もともと１回だけ、という予定でやってみたフェス。
僕が聴いてみたい音楽、もっと知りたい音楽、僕が学びたいと思うアーティストにお願いして出てもらっているこのフェス。僕は常に自分から遠い音楽の感性を持つアーティストに惹かれるので、毎年学ぶことも多い。出演してくださったアーティストは「来年も出たい！こんなのを来年したい！」と言ってくださるし、「いつか端っこで良いので出たい」と人気アーティストの方々からも言ってくださるフェスになりました。
毎年思うのが、世界にはこんなに面白い音楽が作られ、発表されているんだなあ、ということ。
世界のいろんな人が、違う文化、全く個人的なユニークな視点から、「新しい音とは」と作るのが音楽作り。そんな人たちが世界中にいて、紹介したい音楽やアーティストが多すぎて、毎日ボンクリでも良いくらい。
これからも、どんどん新しい音を追求するアーティストを紹介できる特別なフェスになれば、と思います。
Born Creative Festival アーティスティック・ディレクター 藤倉 大
「ボーン・クリエイティヴ」、略して「ボンクリ」。
これは、「人間は皆、生まれつきクリエイティヴだ」という意味。
僕が行っていた福島県相馬市での作曲教室では、5歳から高校生までを対象に世界から現代音楽のエキスパートの演奏家を迎えて特殊技法等をみっちり紹介し、その場で子供達が新しい音楽（現代音楽と呼ぶ人も多いかも知れない）の作曲をする。しかもすべての音や指示を楽譜にきちんと記し、自分の作曲した作品をその場でプロの演奏家に演奏してもらう。子供達が作曲中、演奏家は子供達が作品の一部を確認したり、コラボレーションし、アイディアを楽譜にするために待機し、直ぐに試演できるスペシャルな環境を作っていた。
この作曲教室を何年か継続していてわかったことは、全ての人間は子供の頃、「新しい音楽」「新しい音」、そして5歳の子供の言葉を借りると「変な音」が好きだったということだ。
なぜかそのクリエイティヴィティは成長するにつれ、失われていく。
この「ボンクリ」では、大人になっても5歳の子供のままクリエイティヴでいる人達の作品を紹介。今年はコロナを懸念して、未就学児がご参加いただけるものは少ないけれど、それでも子供から大人までが新しい音楽に触れ、楽しめるイベント。演奏家と共に参加し、一緒に音楽を作るワークショップもあり、即興音楽もあり、箏、笙をはじめとする日本の伝統音楽、エレクトロニクス（電子音楽）も、アンサンブル作品もある。東京芸術劇場館内に「新しい音楽」が満ち溢れる。
一生分、少なくとも1年分の“世界中の新しい響き”を堪能することができるまたとない機会。10月1日＆2日は是非芸劇へ！

A message from the Artistic Director, Dai Fujikura:
It is said that ‘humans are born creative’.
“Born Creative” is a festival where anyone, including 0-year-olds, can experience and enjoy the unusual music created by today's most astonishing musicians who have not yet lost their 5-year-old creative minds. This is an opportunity for you to join, co-create, and enjoy a wide range of music, such as improvisation, traditional Japanese instruments, electronics, and contemporary ensemble music.
‘5-year-old’ creative minds’?
In Soma city, Fukushima, I held a series of music composing workshops. I worked for several years with local children ranging from 5-year-olds to some high school students. We also invited some renowned new musicians from all over the world (some will also make their appearance at Born Creative Festival) to our workshops. Through working with these guest musicians, the children were exposed to a variety of unique and distinct sounds.
In our workshops, the children created their own music. In my class, there are no rules; any sound, any music is allowed. Teachers (including myself) were just there to assist these young composers. As one 5-year-olds said “I want to make a strange music with strange sound!”, so he should!
All the music created in the workshop was notated by young composers themselves and played by professional musicians on the spot (sometimes would point out by 5-year-old "that is not how you do it". We kept trying until young composers were satisfied). Workshop participants and musicians that have never met until now nor shared the same language were able to communicate with each other through notation. It was an incredible experience for guest teachers as well.
After several years of holding these workshops, it come to my mind that all human beings love new sounds. On the journey to our adulthood, somehow the creativity we all once had inside us fades and hides away.
On October 1st and 2nd, Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre will be filled with our 'new sound'.
